About the role
We’re looking for a Product Owner who knows how to take responsibility over the roadmap of their product, including day-to-day operations, project execution, and addressing risks. From conception to launch and beyond, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally and communicate with senior management and lead development team on digital product launches.
As a Digital Product Owner for Horseware, you will play a pivotal role in steering our cross-functional teams towards delivering digital products that meet market needs and exceed customer expectations.
You will be instrumental in defining the product vision, managing, and prioritising the product roadmap, product backlog, and working closely with our agile development team and agency partners to ensure a seamless, efficient delivery of product enhancements, innovations, and solutions to meet the needs of our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Product Management
Facilitate communication between the business, development teams, and digital stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of the digital product vision and priorities.
Define the project vision by utilising insights from A/B testing and data analysis to validate underlying hypotheses and create robust business cases to support strategic decisions and feature prioritisations.
Develop and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with business objectives and priorities.
Manage and prioritise the product backlog to provide the development team with a continuous workflow aligned with strategic goals and drives value for customers.
Evaluate existing products comprehensively, map customer requirements to functional specifications, and develop compelling business cases to address and prioritise gaps.
Perform in-depth analysis of current business processes by documenting requirements, workflows, and data flows using established modelling techniques.
Create and communicate detailed product requirements using agile methodologies—such as requirement specifications, user stories, wireframes, and prototypes—ensuring they are driven by customer insights and data.
Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals.
Report on performance of product enhancements against KPI's, to ensuring that technology investments are successful and are justified.
Project Management
Lead project management for internal development team and external agencies, ensuring it is aligned with product vision and priorities.
Create & maintain scope of work, ensuring it is delivered to desired expectations.
Maintain project timelines and product-release plans, setting realistic expectations for delivery of new functionalities.
Team
Act as a bridge between the eCommerce, digital and agile development teams, ensuring that there is a clear understanding of the ‘why’ behind product features and that all teams are aligned on the product goals and objectives.
Collaborate with eCommerce Managers in defining the scope and objectives for product releases, leveraging their market and customer insights to inform backlog prioritisation and product decisions.
Lead team scrums to define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities, and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project.
Manage development team, ensuring a seamless flow of communication between stakeholders and the team. As the Product Owner, you will translate strategic objectives set by digital stakeholders into actionable tasks and user stories for the development team.
About you
Five or more years of experience in product development
3 years’ experience with scaled/cloud-based ecommerce platforms. Magento & Kontent preferred.
In-depth knowledge of agile methodology for project management
Understanding of business value related to features and functions
Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in related discipline
Proficiency with applicable project management tools and technology
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and across many different parts of the organisation to get things done
Strong leadership and motivational skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Equine knowledge an advantage
Another language preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
