Equestrian Ecommerce & Trade Stand Sales Assistant

Smart Grooming, a leading British brand in grooming and show preparation products, is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to support our in-house sales team. In this position, you’ll play a crucial role in our online sales process—from managing sales progression and packing orders to attending major equestrian trade shows like the National Equine Show, Badminton, Burghley, and Your Horse Live. About us Based in rural Devon, just 10 minutes from Junction 26 and 27 of the M5, Smart Grooming has become a market leader since 2006 in equestrian turnout, grooming, and show preparation. Our headquarters include our office, warehouse, and retail outlet alongside our sister company, Clippersharp. Job Role: • Sales Support - Working closely with the sales team to ensure all online orders are accurately processed, picked, and packed. • Customer Service - Delivering exceptional customer service via email, phone, and in-store interactions, answering queries with professionalism. • Office Tasks - Utilise Microsoft Office (Excel) and basic office systems. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Canva is a plus. • Website Management - Updating imagery, text, and stock levels on our website • Event Attendance - Represent Smart Grooming at major equestrian trade shows including the National Equine Show, Badminton, Burghley, and Your Horse Live, engaging with customers and showcasing our products. • This is a varied role that combines sales support, customer engagement, and marketing, offering excellent growth opportunities within our expanding team. Key Skills & Qualifications • Experience - Sales or customer service experience preferred; familiarity with Shopify or other eCommerce platforms a bonus. • Office Skills - Strong keyboard skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel); Adobe and Canva experience are advantageous. • Equestrian Background - Knowledge of equestrian grooming, turnout, and clipping, and hands-on grooming experience is a big plus. • Personal Traits - Confident, calm, and helpful attitude; self-motivated and able to work systematically under time-conscious goals. • Other Requirements - Must be comfortable working collaboratively in a small team environment. • Full UK Driving Licence.
