Equestrian Store Retail and Marketing Assistant

An independent equestrian and country store offering a wide range of products based near Earls Colne, Essex. Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Sales and Admin Assistant to join our small team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. As a Retail Sales Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment for our customers while assisting them with their shopping needs. Duties • Greet customers warmly and provide assistance in a friendly manner. • Understand customer needs and recommend products that meet those needs. • Maintain product knowledge to effectively communicate features and benefits to customers. • Process transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale. • Ensure the sales floor is well-organised, clean, and visually appealing. • Assist with stock management, including restocking shelves, conducting stock checks and using the back office system. • Handle customer queries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly. • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and enhance the overall customer experience. • Answer telephone, email and social media enquiries. • Create content for social media and our newsletter. Requirements • Previous retail experience is preferred but not essential. • Good equine knowledge and be keen to develop a thorough understanding of our products including undertaking training to provide specialist advice and fitting services • Strong communication skills. • A friendly and approachable demeanour with a focus on customer satisfaction. • Flexibility to work varied days, including Saturdays and bank holidays as required. • Manual handling required up to 25kg. • Own transport essential due to location.
