Equine Groom Apprentice

An exciting opportunity to join a fun, friendly team learning all aspects for a future career in the equestrian industry. Duties to include but not limited to; • Mucking out • Turning out/bring in horses • Daily care for horses • Daily yard maintenance • Feeding/watering/hay • Grooming/trimming • Exercising – riding/lunging depending on experience • Basic business interactions with liveries • Holding for the farrier/vet It is a progressive friendly environment working with top class bloodstock with the possibility of sales work. You will learn from one of the best and most knowledgeable team around whilst working with foals and yearlings. This is a great opportunity to progress for the right candidate. Desired Skills & Qualities • Hard working. • Applicants should have some previous experience of dealing with horses and must show this on their application. • Team Player. Desired Qualifications • English and maths GCSE’s, or equivalents, are desired. • Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or higher in Horse Care to be eligible for a level 2 apprenticeship. Future Prospects • Opportunity to be offered a full time job after completion and possible Level 3. Training • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. • The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship. • The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and onsite visits throughout the apprenticeship. • The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
