We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced qualified equine nurse to head up our small expert team of clinic nurses responsible for all aspects of theatre nursing and diagnostic imaging within the hospital.
About Liphook Equine Hospital
We are a busy equine referral hospital in the heart of rural Hampshire with state-of-the-art facilities and stabling for up to 50 inpatients. Our nursing teams are a highly valued part of the hospital and the clinic nurse team have specific responsibility for radiography, scintigraphy, surgical nursing and relevant road visits.
About the role
Clinic nurses work a 42.5 hour week and contribute equally to a 1:6 OOH rota.
We are looking for a confident dynamic veterinary nurse to lead and manage the clinic nurse team and liaise with other departments in the hospital to ensure we continue to offer outstanding patient care. You will be supported by the other senior leaders in the nursing team and report directly to the business director and clinical directors. Previous management experience is desirable but not essential; excellent equine nursing knowledge and equine veterinary nursing experience in a hospital setting is essential. We are able to offer extensive support and training to the right candidate as needed.
This job is fast-paced and would suit someone that loves a challenge and a diverse caseload with particular interests in theatre nursing and diagnostic imaging. Competitive salary based on experience.
The ideal candidate :
· RVN or REVN
· Able to lead by example
· Willing to learn and develop new skills, with excellent attention to detail
· Confident in handling all horses incl mares, foals and stallions
· Live within 30 min radius of the hospital (shared practice accommodation can be provided if required)
· Due to the rural location of the practice, it is essential that you have access to your own transport
