About Us

We are looking to expand our team and find enthusiastic and fun team members to join us.

Kent Equine Hospital is the only proudly independent Equine Hospital within Kent, with full hospital and surgical facilities that does not outsource its emergency cover. Being independent allows us to have complete control over how we work. From the products we stock to our values and behaviours, our team have input into the running of the hospital and help shape their own workplace to promote a positive and inclusive culture.

We’re small but mighty! We are based on the North Downs adjacent to the Woodland Trust in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With all the knowledge, equipment and skills our hospital possesses, there’s very little we cannot do. We have 6 veterinary surgeons including 2 certificate holders in varying disciplines and an RCVS Recognised and EBVS European Board-certified Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine. We have an SVN and 2 PCAs. Our services are vast, and many can be carried out both in house and on the road thanks to our mobile equipment. From routine health care visits, to complex surgical procedures, we offer a whole encompassing service to the horse owners of Kent.

About the Job

We fully promote a healthy work/life balance. With this in mind, you will be working a three day week, 8am-5pm, (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). We are happy to consider flexible and part time working. It is a self-covering rota, so holiday and sickness cover may be required at busy times.

You will initially be on a fixed term, 12-month contract which could lead to permanent employment.

Salary is dependent on experience. Staff also benefit from 28 days holiday, your birthday off (if it falls on a working day), a CPD budget for training, income protection scheme, discounted gym membership, staff discount for own horse and staff party events.

You will be required to meet and greet them, and deal with any appointment bookings, questions or concerns they may have, both face to face and on the phone. Working alongside the customer service team, you will deliver high levels of care and support for our clients, demonstrating a five star service and leaving them with a positive experience. General administrative duties such as filing, scanning, emailing and postage are part of your role, along with general maintenance and upkeep of the reception area.
