The role is part time and for a fixed term of 12 months. You'll be on a part time basis, working a minimum of 24 hours per week, including 1 weekend day, in the winter season. You'll work more hours during the summer season (April - October) and these hours will decrease in the winter season (November - March) to a minimum of 24 hours. As as Groom, you will assist in the day to day care of the horses including turning out to a very high standard, exercising and training the horses. As a key member of the stables team, your main priorities will be the care and welfare of the horses as well as positive interaction with the public. You will be happy to take part in displays and events and enjoy being part of a busy team with constantly changing priorities.To be considered as a Groom, you'll need:Equine experience in the industryGood experience of routine and emergency horse care and a minimum of BHS Stage 1 or equivalentDemonstrable understanding of the principles of excellent customer care and visitor serviceGeneral awareness of health and safety and security issues Interviews will be held week commencing 10th March, and will include a short practical equine husbandry exercise.
