Position available for alternate Sundays 8-1pm and every Sunday 4.30-6pm Duties: - Groom and care for horses, ensuring their well-being and health - Clean and maintain horse stalls, including mucking out waste and replenishing bedding - Feed and water horses according to their specific dietary needs - Administer basic medical treatments, such as applying ointments or administering oral medications - Maintain a clean and organized barn environment - Assist with grooming tasks, including brushing, bathing, and mane/tail care - Tack up horses for riding or other activities - Assist with the transportation of horses to shows or events Skills: - Heavy lifting: Ability to lift heavy objects, such as bales of hay or bags of feed - Mechanical knowledge: Understanding of basic machinery used in a barn setting, such as tractors or forklifts - Gardening: Knowledge of basic gardening techniques to maintain the appearance of the barn surroundings - Equipment repair: Basic skills in repairing and maintaining equipment used in a barn setting - Basic math: Ability to perform simple calculations for measuring feed portions or administering medication dosages - Animal care: Knowledge of horse behavior and basic equine health care practices - Hand tools: Proficiency in using common hand tools for various tasks around the barn - Power tools: Familiarity with power tools for more complex maintenance tasks Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of duties and skills.
