Are you looking for a fulfilling and rewarding career in equine care? If the answer is yes, please read on.

Redwings is one of the largest horse welfare charities in the UK, where everything we do is for the love of the horse. Working for us means you can make a real difference in the lives of the horses in our care while being part of a supportive and progressive workplace.

We have our own self-contained Behaviour Centre and most of the horses referred to the equine behaviour team are either unhandled or have complex behavioural problems. With this in mind, we are looking for a confident individual to join our Behaviour team.

What will you do?
• Manage and train nervous and difficult equines, respecting the methods used at the centre.
• Ensure our horses have access to appropriate water, feed, and shelter, maintaining hygiene, and checking and cleaning paddocks.
• You will conduct visual health checks, administer prescribed medication, and assist in catching and holding nervous horses for the farrier and vet team.
• Drive and operate Sanctuary vehicles and machinery.

What can we offer you?
• A busy, supportive, team-working environment
• Ongoing development through training and mentoring with opportunities for progression
• Wellbeing support through our Employee Assistance Programme
• Premium pay rates on Sundays and Bank Holidays

What are we looking for from you?
• Sound knowledge of equine care, handling, and welfare issues.
• A great communicator
• Attention to detail
• A full manual driving licence is essential

Redwings is an equal opportunities employer, and we welcome applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates, with a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination in the workplace.
