Our Changing Lives Through Horses (CLTH) team deliver an educational and character-building programme to young people who have either been permanently excluded, at risk of permanent exclusion from school or who have special education needs or disabilities (SEND). We aim to build their resilience, confidence, and self-esteem, and support them to develop the drive and ambition needed to become productive members of society. Our focus is on re-engaging young individuals with education or employment. About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in lesson planning and delivering the CLtH programme, through both theory and practical activities
• Work closely with the CLtH team in being responsible for, recording and reporting each young person's progress through the programme
• Collaborate with the CLtH team to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Provide feedback and guidance to young people to support their personal growth
• Communicate well with parents/carers on the progress of each young person
• Irrespective of experience within the equine industry, you have a duty of care towards yourself, other human beings, equines and yard animals to ensure safety and well-being is priority.

Personal Qualities
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for working with young people and promoting their personal development
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust with young individuals
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the young people who access the CLtH programme
• Confident around horses. Although extensive experience is not required we do require the successful candidate to be confident with horses as the programme is ran on a busy, working yard and horses are at the centre of the programme.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience of working in an education setting e.g. Support Worker, Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Pastoral Support Worker etc
• Equine experience - training can be provided where required
• Safeguarding training (inc Prevent and/or Safer Recruitment)
