Weekend PT Yard Hand/Groom (Experienced)

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH HORSES/ LIVERY YARD ESSENTIAL. Responsibilities: - Groom and care for horses, ensuring their well-being and health - Clean and maintain horse stalls, including mucking out, bedding, and replenishing water and feed - Assist with feeding and watering horses according to their specific dietary needs - Groom horses' coats, manes, and tails, including brushing, bathing, and trimming - Tack up horses for riding or other activities, ensuring proper fit of saddles, bridles, and other equipment - Administer basic first aid to horses as needed - Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard and surrounding areas Requirements: - Experience working with horses and a strong understanding of horse care practices - Ability to handle and control horses safely and confidently - Knowledge of basic equine anatomy, health issues, and common ailments - Proficiency in using hand tools - Physical stamina to perform lifting and manual labour tasks associated with horse care - Basic math skills for measuring feed portions and administering medications accurately - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
