Impact Mentoring is dedicated to supporting young people, particularly those facing challenges or who have been out of education for some time. We work with children and young people to help refocus their energy towards something meaningful and work towards goals, providing tailored support to help them achieve personal success.
Role Overview:
• We are looking for a Youth Mentor who has an interest in horses and supporting vulnerable young people who would be able to drive a female mentee from the Wotton-Under-Edge area to her riding stables near the Forest of Dean, offering mentoring on the way there and staying at the yard if needed.
• 3 mornings a week on set days (Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays 9-12) with options for full days / a session with another mentee in the afternoons 12.30-15.30
• Term time only
• To start as soon as possible.
• £15-£16 p/h + extra travel
As a Youth Mentor, you will engage in one-to-one mentoring sessions with children and young people, guiding and inspiring them to reach their full potential. This role requires a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people and a commitment to their well-being and safety in a structured and person-centred approach.
Responsibilities:
• Drive a female mentee from the Wotton-Under-Edge area to her riding stables near the Forest of Dean, offering mentoring on the way there and staying at the yard if needed.
• Provide one-to-one mentoring support to young people, assisting them in setting and achieving their goals.
• Always ensure the well-being and safety of the children and young people.
• Transport mentees to designated locations and activities, requiring access to your own vehicle and a clean driving licence.
• Collaborate with the team to facilitate successful transitions of students back into educational settings.
• Any additional experience working in schools or with individuals with Special Educational Needs is advantageous.
• To support personal development, social development and gain life skills.
Requirements:
• Have a genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
• Have an interest in horses.
• Ability to engage and inspire positive change.
• Possession of a clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Flexibility to work full-time or part-time.
• Previous experience in mentoring or related fields is preferred but not essential.
